Zombie Apocalypse Book Tag

Thank you Emily @ Emiesnook for tagging me to do the zombie apocalypse tag, which sounds super fun and fits perfectly for October with Halloween coming up!

The Rules:

  • Choose 5 books!
  • Randomly set up your books in order.
  • Flip to a random page in the book and write the first two names you see.
  • Put the names in the categories listed below in the order you saw them!
  • Have fun imagining your apocalypse team get ripped to shreds one by one

My 5 Books:

The characters from these books include:

  • Nesta
  • Cassian
  • Peeta
  • Haymitch
  • Clary
  • Isabelle
  • Ringer
  • Zombie
  • Nina
  • Inej

Let the Zombie Apocalypse Begin!

The First Person To Die | Peeta

Ok so I love Peeta, but he is so useless without Katniss in a fight. So let’s be honest, we all know Peeta is probably going to be the first to die in a zombie apocalypse.

Sorry Clary, but by process of elimination you’ve landed in this spot. But to be honest, if it’s early pre-shadowhunter training Clary I’d probably get away with it but it it’s Shadowhunter Clary I’d probably be the one who ends up falling. Plus Clary fights demons, so if I trip her she can probably fight them off.

I think we all know that Nesta would not hesitate to protect herself and sacrifice me to get away. After all, I would do the same and we’re pretty similar. I think the only person she wouldn’t trip to get away from them would be Elain, but besides that it would be survival of the fittest.

A little ironic right? Zombie in a zombie apocalypse? But lets face it, Ben Parish/Zombie is not the brains of the operation in the 5th Wave. Ringer is the one who is always figuring everything out, leaving Ben/Zombie as our resident team idiot.

Speaking of Ringer, yes she is 100% the brains of the operation. She helped her squad through an alien apocalypse and was the one who figured everything out, so she should absolutely be in charge of this group in a zombie apocalypse.

Nina is a proven medic. While is may not be her specialty, she healed up that knife wound Inej got so I’d go to her first if I was in need of some medical attention.

While Inej may only be well versed in knives, the Wraith is a force to be reckoned with. I would absolutely trust Inej with all the groups weapons, especially since we see the care she puts into her knives upkeep.

My habibi Cassian (fun fact: habibi is arabic for my love and one of my roommates speaks arabic so this word is my replacement for bae. Learn it. Use it.) Obviously Cassian loves a good fight, although better hope he has a leather to tie his long hair into a beautiful man bun. But I know Cassian would gladly leap into a horde of Zombies to brawl for fun so I think he works here.

Ok the only reason I think Haymitch would be the first to turn into a Zombie is because he would get drunk and be too drunk to run away. Plus I’m sure drunk Haymitch identifies with a zombie.

Isabelle Lightwood is a kick ass shadow hunter and is more than qualified to lead this group. She could definitely step into the leader role and would probably end up saving the entire world from this zombie apocalypse with this bad as squad.

The Handwriting Tag

Thank you Ann @ AnntheBookMaster for tagging me to do this. This is interesting and unlike any Tag I’ve ever done before.  The questions come from Amber @Wild Hearts Review  and Dalila @Life Blogging, Life Loving.

The Questions:

  1. What is your name?
  2. What is the URL to your blog
  3. Write the following: “The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog”
  4. Your Favorite Song Lyric(s)
  5. What is your Favorite Word and Definition
  6. Share a Fun Fact about yourself
  7. Write/Draw your Favorite Emoji
  8. Write a Silly Message
  9. Who do you tag?

So I don’t hate or love my handwriting. Sometimes it’s really neat (my notes for microbiology are beautiful) and sometimes it’s gross. I write with my page sideways and do not hold a pencil write but that’s just me. If you notice I also do not like capital letters. I always write my own name with a lowercase “m” and “g” (which is why my signature at the bottom is not capitalized. Now you know!).  I am also THE WORST speller on this planet. Recently (as in this year) in class I wrote Marget at the top of my paper. (For those of you who don’t know, yes that is my real name, and it is spelt Margaret not Marget). Whoops…

So just to clarify a few things:

  • Boston by Augustana is the song I listen to whenever my plane is landing in Boston when I fly home to give me all the homecoming feels. (I make sure it’s at the exact line “I think I’ll go to Boston” when the wheels are touching down).
  • Yes there is a word that means “to throw someone out a window”. You’re welcome.
  • Of course I take a Scottish Dance Class (are you surprised?)
  • Of course the sarcastic judging you emoji is my favorite.
  • And yes I wrote that limerick one day about how I stole my dad’s Kindle fire he won in a raffle (which is still mine) and felt bad so I convinced my brother and sister to buy him the old Kindle original for father’s day.
  • And of course I tag:

The Entertainer Blogger Award

A big thank you to Birdie Bookworm for the nomination to do The Entertainer Blogger Award! I certainly think I’m entertaining but it’s nice to know that other people might think so too.

The Rules |

  • Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  • Add these rules to your post.
  • Answer all the questions below.
  • Display the award picture in your post.
  • Nominate 12 other bloggers who are funny, inspiring and most important of all ENTERTAINING!

The Questions |

1. Why did you start a blog in the first place |

You mean besides as an excuse to spend ever more time insides in front of my computer and buy books? Well, at first I started this blog while I was in Nee Zealand on study abroad. Two of the girls I was traveling with had WordPress accounts and after seeing them I decided I wanted somewhere to share my amazing experience abroad. But while I was in New Zealand I also decided I wanted to post some book reviews since I always thought being a part of booktube would be amazing but I was too camera shy for that and that is how my blog morphed into what it is today.

2. What is your favorite book |

26073150This is always a loaded question because there are so many books that I love. But if you read my blog you know Sarah j Maas is my queen and right now and my all time favorite book of hers (currently) is A Court of Mist and Fury. I have loved it since May when it came out and I still obsess over it all the time.

3. What do you dislike the most |

Wow. Aggressive question. Like what do I dislike most ever? Animal suffering? Poverty? Those kinds of things? That seems a little deep so I’m going to alter this to what do I dislike most in the reading world and of course it’s always the same: books that end with memory wipes or the lose of whatever awesome power they’ve had the entire book. Hate that.

4. What is your favorite food item from the mall |

Those awesome Thai or Japanese food bars where you get to fill one of those styrofoam boxes with whatever you want. Nothing like noodles, rice and broccoli all heaping in sauce. Delicious.

5. What is your favorite pastime |

Besides reading….? Or blogging? Well I love just sitting around with my dogs with coffee (and a book of course).

The Wine Book Tag

So I love wine, and love reading so what goes better together than doing the wine book tag!  I first saw this tag on Emma Kath @ lladyliterary. So grab some wine and lets do the Wine Book Tag!

Box Wine: A book that people will judge you for liking but you like anyway | Iron King

6644117So kicking this off stealing lladyliterary’s first answer. This is what drew me into this post because I love this series and couldn’t agree more is a book people will judge. The Iron King by Julie Kagawa is a series I love, and I feel like nobody else has read. I thought the books were so fabulous. I love Megan and Ash and was rooting for them the entire time. I love the setting and this take on the Fae. And I was even happy to have the spin off, even if it wasn’t as good of the original (of course).

Organic Wine: A book that doesn’t have any added crap and is written perfectly | Fangirl

fangirl-rainbow-rowell-cover-677x1024Fangirl is perfect. There is nothing about Fangirl I did not like except the end, because it was over and I could have read 500 more pages about Cath. Never in my life have I connected so much with a book character so in my mind Fangirl is flawless.

Gluehwein: A really spicy, wintry read | Outlander

21532133If Outlander isn’t spicy I don’t know what is. The chemistry between Claire and Jamie is electric and there are some steamy scenes between the two of them. Plus something about the remote Scottish setting just makes me want to curl up with a blanket on a cold day and read this.

Sauvignon Blanc: A really sharp and aggressive read that you couldn’t put down | The 5th Wave

16101128I didn’t expect to like this book because I’d heard it was about aliens and that didn’t really interest me. But there was so much mystery to the entire story and it was written so well that I ended up reading it cover to cover in under 48 hours, staying up all hours of the night just to see what happens.

Pinot Noir: A book you didn’t expect much from but ended up getting blown away by | Six of Crows

23437156I did not know anything about this book when I picked it up except that it was a heist novel. I had never read the Grisha trilogy and actually didn’t know anything about it. But I just needed something to read and amazon suggested this. And Oh My Gosh was I BLOWN AWAY. I loved this book start to finish and it is now one of my favorite books.

Chardonnay: A good summer read that was super zesty | The Bet

17560674-2Ok so The Bet is good for when you just need that quality boy gets the girl in the end romance read, but a little bit more for adults. I enjoyed this story and then the 2 sequals a lot. This was one of the first romance novels I ever picked up and it will always be a favorite. It was a nice beach read.

Rose: A book that has a little bit of everything in it | The Mortal Instruments

256683Werewolves, demons, vampires, Fae, Warlocks, Angels, Shapeshifters, Demon hunters oh my! This series has all the paranormal creatures, YA romance, action, politics, family issues you name it and it’s somewhere in this vast universe created by Cassandra Clare.

Shiraz: A full bodied book that is dark and juicy | Diminished Responsibility

9205674So I had to read a book with a “responsibility theme” summer before my senior year of high school. I found this by simply looking for books with responsibility in the title and ended up really enjoy it. It starts off with a girl and her sister getting kidnapped and her sister dies. But because of “diminished responsibility” the murdered gets off with a lesser sentence. We then get to see how he haunts her for the rest of her life and what happens as she tries to escape her past. It was an exciting read and a little dark but full o lots of twists and turns.

Merlot: A smooth easy read with a soft finish | Anna and the French Kiss

17453983When you just need that really cute love story, the it totally PG, then Anna and the French Kiss is perfect. It’s an adorable romance where everything works out, plus there are two more stories to go along with it where we do get sneak peeks of what Anna and her man are up to.

Champagne: Your favorite book | A Court of Mist and Fury

26073150How can I not mention this book. It came out in may and all this time later at the end of September it is still consuming my soul. Despite the fact that Empire of Storms has come and gone, A Court of Mist and Fury still holds the top spot in my heart as not only my favorite SJM book, but my favorite book in general. I still find myself searching the internet for new fan fiction, rereading chapters and falling in love with these characters all over again all the time and I don’t think that’s going to stop any time soon.

Stationary Book Tag

I want to thank Andie @ BooksCoffeeAndPassion for tagging me to do this book tag. I absolutely adore book tags so keep the tag coming! I’ve had so much fun doing the last few from everyone!

The Rules:

  • Thank the creator – Sam @ RiverMooseReads
  • Answer the questions
  • Add pictures, if you want
  • Tag 5 people

Pencils: Favorite Middle Grade or Children’s Book | A Series of Unfortunate Events

a2ea4766f8470f0435e492db349ec2f3.jpgThis was the first series as a kid that I had my mom making daily runs to the bookstore for me. I was blowing through these books in 4th grade, and they started getting longer and longer but I could not put them down. I remember going to New York to visit my grandpa and we were supposed to walk around the city but all I wanted to do was stay in and read (which was the start of a slippery slope…did you get the series of unfortunate events pun there?)

Pens: A Basic Staple for any Reader | The Book Thief

19063-2I love The Book Thief. It is such a beautiful story and the fact that it’s narrated by death makes it so unique. It’s such an amazing book and if they didn’t make you read it for school then everyone should read it at some point. It is one of the only books that has ever made me cry and possibly the only book that made me cry that wasn’t sad because a dog was dying or hurt. I also just got the special anniversary edition because I love it that much and it’s beautiful.

Notebooks: What do you Own Multiple Copies Of | None yet but…

I have every intention of investing in the special edition of Eleanor and
Park and Fangirl, both by Rainbow Rowell. I just really love the beautiful fan art on the inside cover, especially in Eleanor and Park and since they’re standalones it’s not like I have to invest in an entire second set of a series.

Markers: A Book With a Beautiful Cover | Clockwork Princess

6131164Ok so there are so many books with beautiful covers (like every SJM book ever) but I LOVE the Clockwork Princess cover. The first 2 books have good covers, but the last one is amazing! That dress is so gorgeous and Tessa looks just how I imagined her and it’s just stunning.

Glue: Two Characters That Work Really Well Together (friends or couple)| Percabeth

f15f05e59c4e906cd447444fd72006afSo I just used Percy and Annabeth for another tag, as my ultimate OTP, and while I have a lot of ships in my armada, Percabeth will always be up there as a favorite. I picked them for this question because there are plenty of OTPs who don’t always work great together and Percy and Annabeth are the ultimate fighting machine and between Percy’s powers, Annabeth’s smarts and both of their overall skill and determination they have literally been able to walk through hell together so I’d say they work pretty well together.

Scissors: A Book You Would Like to Destroy | Allegiant

Allegiant_novel_cover.jpgStupid stupid stupid Allegiant. Taking a perfectly nice series and ruining it all. Not just the ending (you know what she did *glares at author*) but the entire last book was just such a let down. The entire plot line just fell flat compared to what had happened in the previous books and don’t even get me started on the ending because I’m still upset about it.

Art Kit: What Complete Series Do You Own | All the Sarah J Maas books

throneofglasssetSo I do not yet have entire series but I have all her released books, including the coloring book! (just missing the last book in each series *sobs uncontrollably*) and then they’re both over which will be the most bittersweet year ever. But I used to buy all my books on kindle and then I bought 1 Sarah J Maas book last year, which led to all of them, and now I have over 3 shelves of books.

Tag: Versatile Blogger Award

Thank you M @ MReadsBooks for nominating me for the Versatile Blogger Award.

  • Show the award on your blog and thank the person who nominated you
  • Share 7 different facts about yourself
  • Nominate 15 blogs of your choice
  • Link you nominees and let them know of their nomination

7 Facts About Me

1. I’m from Massachusetts but I go to college in Delaware |

I’m not exactly sure how I ended up here in the state of Delaware but for the past 3 years I have been down here in the mid atlantic region of the country instead of up in my true home in New England. But despite how much I sometimes miss my home, I do love it here at this University plus I met some of my best friends here.

2. I just finished applying to veterinary school |

Being a vet has been my life long dream and this month I finally applied to vet schools all around the US, plus one in Scotland and one in Ireland. It was a difficult process and no where near over yet since I won’t know if I got in any time soon but it was still very exciting.

3. I studied abroad in New Zealand for a 5 weeks last winter |

And it was amazing. I actually started this blog while I was there because I was having so many experiences and I wanted to share some of the amazing things  I was doing and seeing while I was there. Some of the awesome things I did included bungy jumping, sky diving, white water rafting and taking a Lord of the Rings trail ride.

4. I am very passionate about adopting dogs and rescuing dogs |

This is a big one for me. I love my 2 dogs, Jonesy and McGuire, who are both mutts and both rescues. I am a very big proponent of ALWAYS rescuing a dog over buying from a breeder and a big proponent of getting mixed breeds since most purebreds are so over bred that they are genetically unsound and have all sorts of health complications. But more than that there are millions of dogs that need homes or they’ll be put down so there’s no need to be paying someone to breed new dogs when there are already so many. Currently my life plan involves having 5 dogs. img_2624

5. I saw the Winter Olympics in 2006 in Torino Italy

I was only 10 years old but my dad is always coming up with these slightly crazy ideas that end up being amazing. So he started planning this years before the olympics and we ended up going to Italy for 2 weeks. We skied in the alps since my family loves to ski before heading to the olympics to watch the Women’s  Bronze Medal Hockey Game, which the US happened to be in and won, and the Nordic Combine. It was so amazing and I don’t even think my ten year old self was appreciating what I was a part of for half of what it was worth. We even went to venice on the way out which was so amazing. (That’s me in the red hat)355_1051536409953_5734_n_2.jpg

6. The greatest class I’ve taken in college is Scottish Country Dance |

Yes you heard right. Scottish Country Dance. It is so much fun and such a great stress reliever at the end of a long week of classes. Me and one of my best friends (Emily @ EmiesNook) do it together and you can catch us at the Argyle Ball in Washington DC this fall dancing the night away (and hopefully meeting my Jamie Fraser too 😉 )

7. I hate warm weather

I know so many people always say “Fall is my favorite season” but if you ask them what their second favorite is it’s going to be spring or summer. Well not me. Bring on winter. Bring on the snow and ice and freezing temperatures because I hate the sun and the sun hates me. I cannot go outside in the summer without getting a sunburn and I hate wearing shorts. I like long pants and sweaters and boots which is why being further south than New England has been a bit of a struggle for me, as its a little warmer for a little longer. All I can say is I had a blast during the 2015 Blizzard in Massachusetts with our 9ft of snow. Below you’ll see my dad strolling up the snow onto our roof.

Book Tag: Seasons of Book Blogging

Thank you Ann @ AnnTheBookMaster for tagging me to do the Seasons of Book Blogging Book Tag, which was originally created by Jordyn @ J.Bookish back in November 2015. Also I hope everyone appreciates my extreme effort to not use Sarah J Maas characters for literally every answer because let me tell you it is a struggle.

The rules are:

  1. Thank the creator and the person who tagged you
  2. Begin with the month you were tagged and move forward from there
  3. State the best gift you’ve ever been given after you answer the question for your birthday month
  4. Tag new people!
  5. Have fun

So, here is the Seasons of Book Blogging Book Tag!

September, the time students go back to school. Pick a book you read for school you actually enjoyed | The Book Thief

19063-2.jpgSo this was one of my summer reading books in high school and I absolutely loved it. The fact that it’s told from the perspective of death is so interesting and even though it was sad it was just such an amazing story, especially if you love books.

October is the time for Halloween. Pick one character that you would love to dress up as for Halloween | Nesta Archeron

tumblr_odtooygrjg1uv3gwvo2_1280So I have to pick Nesta because me, Emily @ EmiesNook and Jess @ StarsWhoListen have a plan to dress as all 3 Archeron sisters together at some point and I’m so excited to do it because I love Nesta and her fiery personality and “takes no shit” attitude. Now all I need is a Cassian to accompany me.

November is the month we are reminded to be thankful. Choose one book you’re grateful for having read and give a shout out to the person who recommended it | Twilight

41865I know what you’re thinking…Twilight? Really? But let me clarify why. My friend Natalie forced me to read this the summer before 8th grade and this was a big jumping off point for my love of reading. I’d always loved to read but Twilight was special for me and one of the first things I’d ever hard core “fangirled” over.

December is the time for friends and family to celebrate and give gifts. Name one book you would give as a gift | Fangirl

fangirl-rainbow-rowell-cover-677x1024Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell is a book I have given as a gift and recommended to many people. The reason it is the perfect book to recommend is because if you are a real bookworm and love to read, then you will on some level see a piece of yourself in Cath which makes it such a special book. Plus Rainbow Rowell is such an amazing writer that you can’t not love this book.

January begins a new year. Name a reading resolution you made this year and if you’ve kept it or not |Yearly Classic

9781435158108_p0_v1_s192x300For the past few years I’ve tried to make myself read one classic book a year. So far I’ve gotten through the Odyssey and Wuthering Heights and this year I’m trying to make it through the Complete Collection of Sherlock Holmes. Now that is A LOT of stories so no way I’ll finish it this year but I have read a fair number of them so far so I think it’s going well.

February is the month for love. Name your favorite book relationship | Percabeth

f15f05e59c4e906cd447444fd72006af.jpgOk so this is a difficult question for me because I feel like I have so many OTPs. But in an effort to not use Sarah J. Maas characters for every answer I’ve decided to go with Percy and Annabeth from the Percy Jackson Series by Rick Riordan I love percabeth with all my heart and they were the first couple I actively sought out fan fiction for so I could continue their story.

March is the month for luck and new beginnings. Name a book or series that you would like to re-experience as if you’ve never read it | The Infernal Devices

6131164.jpgThe Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare was so amazing. I loved every second of it and wish I could read it again for the first time over and over because it’s never as good as the first time. The characters were so amazing and I loved the historical setting with the elaborate dresses and carriages. And there were so many twists and amazing, action packed scenes that I wish I could reread the first time again.

April is a spectacularly ordinary month. Name a book that was so over-hyped that it just could not live up to your expectations | Red Queen

22328546So it’s not that I didn’t like this book, I thought it was good. But after all the hype I was expecting it to be amazing and it just didn’t do it for me. I liked it but I just never really got that connected to the characters

May is the month when the flowers start to bloom. Name a book that was a pleasant surprise to you | Starcrossed

9462795-2This book I found when I was looking for anything to read right when I got my kindle and was flying through books, some great and some horrible. I found this series by Josephine Angelini and it was such a pleasant surprise. Not only did I love the Greek mythology in it but I also loved the Nantucket setting since it referenced places I had been.

June is the time to take a break. Name a book or genre that you like to read when you just need to check out | Contemporary

Sometimes you just need a really adorable contemporary, fluffy love story and nothing is a better break from the world than that perfect love story where boy meets girl and after some mild, mid story drama, they live happily ever after together.

July is the time to celebrate your independence. Name a book that made you see fireworks | Throne of Glass

81PUjYDq2yLThrone of Glass was another pleasant surprise for me. I avoided it for so long because all I’d ever seen of it on Goodreads was that horrible original cover with that awful little excerpt on the back. But after watching PolandBananasBooks RAVE over it I finally picked it up and the rest is history as it is now my favorite series and Sarah J Maas is my favorite author.

July is also my birth month but I have no idea what the best present I’ve ever gotten was. However once for Easter, the Easter Bunny fulfilled my life dream by leaving 2 baby bunnies for me so that was a real highlight for my 5 year old self.

August is the hottest month of the year. Pick an up-and-coming author that you think will be the next hottest thing | Kara Thomas

kara-mustafa-newSo I have not yet read Kara Thomas’s book, The Darkest Corners, but I saw her speak with Sarah J Maas in Pennsylvania last spring and after listening to her speak I really think she has a lot more to offer and that she’s going to be big.

Megan’s Questions

Where do you get most of your books | 2nd and Charles

There’s this great used bookstore near my school called 2nd and Charles and they always have so many great books so I go there all the time and buy way too much.

What is your favorite color |  Green

I love the color green. My prom dress was green, my eyes are green and a lot of my shirts and accessories are green. Personally I love having green as a favorite color because I feel like most people love blue or purple (not that there’s anything wrong with that) but it just makes me a little bit unique.

Pick one: chocolate, vanilla or strawberry | Chocolate

Hands down chocolate. Chocolate makes the world go round.

Do you have any weird OCD habits we should know about | Fruit Snacks

So when I open a pack of fruit snacks (the scooby doo ones are my favorite) I cannot just eat them. I have to take them all out, arrange them by type and then eat them so I’ll have 1 of each left. Plus as I eat the ones I have duplicates of I have to eat the uglier ones first so I have the best looking variety of gummies left at the end. Weird I know but I’ve done that since I was a kid. I also never stepped on the bottom step of my elementary school the entire time I was there. I always skipped it. Don’t ask why.

If you wrote a book what do you think it’s be about |

I honestly have no idea. While I love the idea of me writing a book, I’ve never really been much of a story teller. If I wrote something it would probably be fantasy since I would want to be able to build that world up from the ground but I have no idea what it would be about.

Three words you would use to describe yourself | Sarcastic, Easygoing, Motherly

Ok so a strange mix of words but first off I am just the most sarcastic human being on this planet. I don’t mean it in a mean way I just tend to say things dripping with sarcasm. Easygoing because I can be pretty go with the flow if people want to change plans or do whatever. And then the bizarre one: motherly. I am the mom of my group of friends. I look out for everyone when we go out, remind them to clean up the house so ya, I can be a bit motherly.

Do you prefer computer, or tablet/phone? | Computer

I love my computer. Maybe if I had a tablet but since I don’t and it’s choosing between my computer or my phone my computer always wins.

Will you dress up for Halloween? If so, as what? | Absolutely!

This year my friends and I will be going as the cast of “The Nigh Man Cometh” from that episode of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I will be Dennis the “little boy” who turns into the Day Man at the end.

If you had one magical power, what would it be and why? | Talking to Animals

Ok so my entire life I have wanted to be a veterinarian and so I always thought the most amazing thing in the world would to be able to talk to animals like Eliza Thornberry or Dr. Doolittle because I would be the most amazing vet ever if I could talk to my patients.

If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be? | Hair

TBH I’ve always wondered what I would look like if I had been born with REALLY red hair.

Name one celebrity you truly admire or that you find inspirational | Ashley Graham

So I started following Ashley Graham on Instagram last year and I don’t remember why, but as someone who is not stick thin and has always struggled with body weight I love her and find her so inspiring. She is big and curvy, but also fit and beautiful and confident. She is so successful and seems so comfortable in her own skin so  I love seeing that and think she’s such a great role model for girls.

My Questions:

  1. What’s your favorite animal?
  2. If you could go anywhere, where would you visit?
  3. What book on your TBR are you most excited to read?
  4. What’s your favorite movie?
  5. Which TV show are you most excited to come back on?
  6. What is your favorite state? (it doesn’t have to be the one you live in)
  7. Favorite season and why?
  8. Dogs or Cats?
  9. What’s the best book you’ve read this year?
  10. What do you see yourself doing in 5 years?
  11. Why did you start blogging?

Disney Book Tag

So I saw this and thought it looked great plus who doesn’t love disney? So without further delay the Disney Book Tag:

The Little Mermaid – A Character Who is a Fish Out of Water

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell (shocker I would mention this I know) but Cather is such a fish out of water in college. She won’t even go to the dining hall for the first few months just because she feels so awkward and while her nerves are totally relatable she’s such a fish on land. fangirl-rainbow-rowell-cover-677x1024

Snow White – Book with Eclectic Cast of Characters

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. I love the rag tag team that makes up the heist squad in this book. They’re all so different and are not friends, but they work together so well to try and pull off the ultimate heist, all while thinking of ways to double cross each other the entire way for different reasons. They come from all different parts of this diverse world and we have all the good parts of a heist. The brains, thief, shooter, demolition expert, soldier and…witch? Sorceress? Anyways they’re a nice eclectic bunch and make this book a great read.

Sleeping Beauty – A Book that puts you to Sleep

The Life of Pi. A book I was forced to read for summer reading and despite so many people’s rave reviews I just could not get into it. Plus I was so mad at the end (if you read it you know why).

The Lion King – A Character who had Something Traumatic happen in Childhood

I feel like every YA book ever fits this category. So I’m going to go with a favorite book I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned. The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken. Poor Ruby is put in a “camp” (prison?) when she’s just a little kid and has to find a way to escape because she’s been hiding the fact of how dangerous she really is and now they know. The trauma of this (plus the trauma of what happens that lands her in the camp) shapes her for the rest of the series.

Beauty and The Beast – A Beast of a Book on the outside but Beautiful

This would have to be Outlander for me. I watched the first half of season 1 before reading it but HAD to know what happened next. Of course I was unaware it was a 700+ page book so picking it up was a little intimidating but it’s so amazing and worth it once you get going.

Hercules – Book that Inspired You

The Book Thief. I had to read this for summer reading in high school and absolutely loved it. It made me cry and was honesty the best summer reading book I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading.

Mulan – Your Favorite Character Pretending to be Something They’re Not

Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas (I know another big shocker from me). In the first book Celaena is pretending to be Lillian for the sake of appearances but if you’re a little further along in the series you catch my double meaning with this [SPOILERS STOP HERE] *cough cough Aelin if you know what I mean??*

Up – A Book that Based on the Cover and Title you have no Idea what it’s about

Beautiful Creatures. I picked this book up in 8th or 9th grade from the bookstore just because I wanted something to read and I really loved it. It was probably one of the first books I had picked up in a while that I really dove head first into and one of the first series I was waiting for the next book to come out down to the day, even if it didn’t end as great as it started.

Frozen – Pair of Book Siblings You Love

Jude and Noah from I’ll Give You the Sun. The entire book is just about their relationship as siblings and twins while everything else in their life is changing and how they’re the only people they really need to make things right with no matter what. I love this book and them as characters.

Maleficent – A Book Villain you Love to Hate

There are so many good villains out there. But one of my favorite villains (probably because I never though of him as a villain and was rooting for him to get the girl the entire time) was the Darkling from Leigh Bardugo’s Grisha Trilogy. Now I had such high hopes for this series. I loved the first half of the first book, while the training with the Darkling was going on. And then it all went down hill from there since I was not team Mal. And the not course I hated the ending because it had one of my biggest book pet peeves (Spoilers ahead **I hate when people in books either forget what happens or lose their abilities, powers whatever**). But I did love the Darkling and just could not hate him

And that is the Disney Book Tag. I tag anyone and everyone who would like to do this.

Thanks for Reading

The Olympics Books Tag

So the olympics are over, summer is over and it’s time to go back to school. But it was fun. This year the olympics were full of lots of amazing moments. The Final 5 killing gymnastics Michael Phelps, Katie Ledecky annihilating the competition in the pool, volleyball, track, equestrian all of it really is always so fun to watch. I feel like you either LOVE the olympics or you don’t really care that much and I am definitely a lover.

But what better way to say goodbye to the olympics for another 4 years (only 2 until winter!) than with a book tag. Shout out to Niraja @ Fantastic Books and Where to Find Them since that’s where I saw this first and couldn’t resist so without further delay, the Olympics Book Tag.

  1. 100M – A Book You Have Raced Through

That would be I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson. Once I got into this book I could not put it down. Even though I was working I still finished this in less than 2 days. It’s told from 2 POVs, a brother and a sister, Noah and Jude and they’re telling you about the same story but Noah is telling you about when they’re 13 and Jude when they’re 16 and a lot has changed in that time so you’re not totally sure what’s happened and the only way to finally put all the pieces of their story together is to finish it.

2. Synchronized Diving – The Perfect Couple

That’s not easy. There are a few that I LOVE. Percy and Annabeth from Percy Jackson is alway a favorite. (warning spoilers for Throne of Glass and ACOTAR ahead) But I can’t not mention Aelin and Rowan from the Throne of Glass series and of course Feyre and Rhys.

3. Michael Phelps – The Best Book You’ve Ever Read

Well I’m not really sure how I’m supposed to choose that going all the way back to my childhood. I’m going to throw it WAY back to one of the earliest fantasy books I ever fell in love with, plus one of the first gigantic books I tackled on my own, The Cry of the Icemark by Stuart Hill. I don’t know what it was but I LOVED this book. I got it for free when I was in elementary school and I thought it was amazing. This was definitely the first 474 page book I read by myself in 4th or 5th grade. It’s about a princess, but she’s a warrior, tough as nails and war has come to her kingdom. Now she has to step up, become queen and win this epic battle, all while gathering allies from the neighboring vampires, giant snow tigers, werewolves etc. Like I said high fantasy.

4. Simone Biles – A Short and Sweet Book

I’m not exactly sure what qualifies as “short” and I can’t exactly think of anything so I’m going to do a short story I’m excited to read because I bet it will be sweet. Incase you didn’t hear, for national booklovers day Rainbow Rowell released a short story called Kindred Spirits. It’s about a girl who loves Star Wars so I can relate and I’m sure it will be a great story so I’ll go with this. That is how much confidence I have in Rowell’s writing.

5. Rugby 7s – A Tough Book You Struggled to Finish

Ok so I’ve mentioned this a lot recently but it’s The Raven Boys series, again. Particularly the last book, The Raven King is where the story really dragged for me but after the first book I feel like I spent the rest waiting for the plot to get better and go somewhere to match the awesome characters, who are the reason I struggled through until the end instead of just giving up on it.

6. Golf – A New Genera Outside of your Comfort Zone

I have been reading way more contemporary books thanks to Rainbow Rowell lately. Normally I’m more of a fantasy person, or fantasy in realistic fiction but not big on the contemporary stuff. But like I said Rainbow Rowell is a new favorite author of mine which has led me to read I’ll Give You the Sun, and pick up a few others.

7. Decathlon – The Best Series

Ok since neither of her series are over yet, I cannot make a conclusive decision on which one I like better, but it’s a Sarah J. Maas Series. Right now I’ll say it’s Throne of Glass just because that has more books out and I’m all hype for Empire of Storms right now, but ACOTAR is so amazing and ACOMAF has been all I can think about this entire summer so it’s really a toss up until both series end (not gonna cry).

I shall tag EmiesNook but also anyone else who wants to do this.
