The First Person To Die | Peeta
Ok so I love Peeta, but he is so useless without Katniss in a fight. So let’s be honest, we all know Peeta is probably going to be the first to die in a zombie apocalypse.
THE PERSON YOU TRIP TO ESCAPE THE ZOMBIES | Clary
Sorry Clary, but by process of elimination you’ve landed in this spot. But to be honest, if it’s early pre-shadowhunter training Clary I’d probably get away with it but it it’s Shadowhunter Clary I’d probably be the one who ends up falling. Plus Clary fights demons, so if I trip her she can probably fight them off.
THE PERSON THAT TRIPS YOU TO GET AWAY FROM THE ZOMBIES| Nesta
I think we all know that Nesta would not hesitate to protect herself and sacrifice me to get away. After all, I would do the same and we’re pretty similar. I think the only person she wouldn’t trip to get away from them would be Elain, but besides that it would be survival of the fittest.
THE TEAM IDIOT | Zombie
A little ironic right? Zombie in a zombie apocalypse? But lets face it, Ben Parish/Zombie is not the brains of the operation in the 5th Wave. Ringer is the one who is always figuring everything out, leaving Ben/Zombie as our resident team idiot.
THE BRAINS OF THE GROUP | Ringer
Speaking of Ringer, yes she is 100% the brains of the operation. She helped her squad through an alien apocalypse and was the one who figured everything out, so she should absolutely be in charge of this group in a zombie apocalypse.
THE TEAM MEDIC | Nina
Nina is a proven medic. While is may not be her specialty, she healed up that knife wound Inej got so I’d go to her first if I was in need of some medical attention.
THE WEAPONS EXPERT | Inej
While Inej may only be well versed in knives, the Wraith is a force to be reckoned with. I would absolutely trust Inej with all the groups weapons, especially since we see the care she puts into her knives upkeep.
THE TEAM’S BRAWLER | Cassian
My habibi Cassian (fun fact: habibi is arabic for my love and one of my roommates speaks arabic so this word is my replacement for bae. Learn it. Use it.) Obviously Cassian loves a good fight, although better hope he has a leather to tie his long hair into a beautiful man bun. But I know Cassian would gladly leap into a horde of Zombies to brawl for fun so I think he works here.
THE FIRST PERSON TO TURN INTO A ZOMBIE | Haymitch
Ok the only reason I think Haymitch would be the first to turn into a Zombie is because he would get drunk and be too drunk to run away. Plus I’m sure drunk Haymitch identifies with a zombie.
THE TEAM LEADER | Isabelle
Isabelle Lightwood is a kick ass shadow hunter and is more than qualified to lead this group. She could definitely step into the leader role and would probably end up saving the entire world from this zombie apocalypse with this bad as squad.

This is always a loaded question because there are so many books that I love. But if you read my blog you know Sarah j Maas is my queen and right now and my all time favorite book of hers (currently) is A Court of Mist and Fury. I have loved it since May when it came out and I still obsess over it all the time.
So kicking this off stealing lladyliterary’s first answer. This is what drew me into this post because I love this series and couldn’t agree more is a book people will judge. The Iron King by Julie Kagawa is a series I love, and I feel like nobody else has read. I thought the books were so fabulous. I love Megan and Ash and was rooting for them the entire time. I love the setting and this take on the Fae. And I was even happy to have the spin off, even if it wasn’t as good of the original (of course).
Fangirl is perfect. There is nothing about Fangirl I did not like except the end, because it was over and I could have read 500 more pages about Cath. Never in my life have I connected so much with a book character so in my mind Fangirl is flawless.
If Outlander isn’t spicy I don’t know what is. The chemistry between Claire and Jamie is electric and there are some steamy scenes between the two of them. Plus something about the remote Scottish setting just makes me want to curl up with a blanket on a cold day and read this.
I didn’t expect to like this book because I’d heard it was about aliens and that didn’t really interest me. But there was so much mystery to the entire story and it was written so well that I ended up reading it cover to cover in under 48 hours, staying up all hours of the night just to see what happens.
I did not know anything about this book when I picked it up except that it was a heist novel. I had never read the Grisha trilogy and actually didn’t know anything about it. But I just needed something to read and amazon suggested this. And Oh My Gosh was I BLOWN AWAY. I loved this book start to finish and it is now one of my favorite books.
Ok so The Bet is good for when you just need that quality boy gets the girl in the end romance read, but a little bit more for adults. I enjoyed this story and then the 2 sequals a lot. This was one of the first romance novels I ever picked up and it will always be a favorite. It was a nice beach read.
Werewolves, demons, vampires, Fae, Warlocks, Angels, Shapeshifters, Demon hunters oh my! This series has all the paranormal creatures, YA romance, action, politics, family issues you name it and it’s somewhere in this vast universe created by Cassandra Clare.
So I had to read a book with a “responsibility theme” summer before my senior year of high school. I found this by simply looking for books with responsibility in the title and ended up really enjoy it. It starts off with a girl and her sister getting kidnapped and her sister dies. But because of “diminished responsibility” the murdered gets off with a lesser sentence. We then get to see how he haunts her for the rest of her life and what happens as she tries to escape her past. It was an exciting read and a little dark but full o lots of twists and turns.
When you just need that really cute love story, the it totally PG, then Anna and the French Kiss is perfect. It’s an adorable romance where everything works out, plus there are two more stories to go along with it where we do get sneak peeks of what Anna and her man are up to.
How can I not mention this book. It came out in may and all this time later at the end of September it is still consuming my soul. Despite the fact that Empire of Storms has come and gone, A Court of Mist and Fury still holds the top spot in my heart as not only my favorite SJM book, but my favorite book in general. I still find myself searching the internet for new fan fiction, rereading chapters and falling in love with these characters all over again all the time and I don’t think that’s going to stop any time soon.
This was the first series as a kid that I had my mom making daily runs to the bookstore for me. I was blowing through these books in 4th grade, and they started getting longer and longer but I could not put them down. I remember going to New York to visit my grandpa and we were supposed to walk around the city but all I wanted to do was stay in and read (which was the start of a slippery slope…did you get the series of unfortunate events pun there?)
I love The Book Thief. It is such a beautiful story and the fact that it’s narrated by death makes it so unique. It’s such an amazing book and if they didn’t make you read it for school then everyone should read it at some point. It is one of the only books that has ever made me cry and possibly the only book that made me cry that wasn’t sad because a dog was dying or hurt. I also just got the special anniversary edition because I love it that much and it’s beautiful.
Ok so there are so many books with beautiful covers (like every SJM book ever) but I LOVE the Clockwork Princess cover. The first 2 books have good covers, but the last one is amazing! That dress is so gorgeous and Tessa looks just how I imagined her and it’s just stunning.
So I just used Percy and Annabeth for another tag, as my ultimate OTP, and while I have a lot of ships in my armada, Percabeth will always be up there as a favorite. I picked them for this question because there are plenty of OTPs who don’t always work great together and Percy and Annabeth are the ultimate fighting machine and between Percy’s powers, Annabeth’s smarts and both of their overall skill and determination they have literally been able to walk through hell together so I’d say they work pretty well together.
Stupid stupid stupid Allegiant. Taking a perfectly nice series and ruining it all. Not just the ending (you know what she did *glares at author*) but the entire last book was just such a let down. The entire plot line just fell flat compared to what had happened in the previous books and don’t even get me started on the ending because I’m still upset about it.
So I do not yet have entire series but I have all her released books, including the coloring book! (just missing the last book in each series *sobs uncontrollably*) and then they’re both over which will be the most bittersweet year ever. But I used to buy all my books on kindle and then I bought 1 Sarah J Maas book last year, which led to all of them, and now I have over 3 shelves of books.

So this was one of my summer reading books in high school and I absolutely loved it. The fact that it’s told from the perspective of death is so interesting and even though it was sad it was just such an amazing story, especially if you love books.
So I have to pick Nesta because me, Emily @ EmiesNook and Jess @ StarsWhoListen have a plan to dress as all 3 Archeron sisters together at some point and I’m so excited to do it because I love Nesta and her fiery personality and “takes no shit” attitude. Now all I need is a Cassian to accompany me.
I know what you’re thinking…Twilight? Really? But let me clarify why. My friend Natalie forced me to read this the summer before 8th grade and this was a big jumping off point for my love of reading. I’d always loved to read but Twilight was special for me and one of the first things I’d ever hard core “fangirled” over.
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell is a book I have given as a gift and recommended to many people. The reason it is the perfect book to recommend is because if you are a real bookworm and love to read, then you will on some level see a piece of yourself in Cath which makes it such a special book. Plus Rainbow Rowell is such an amazing writer that you can’t not love this book.
For the past few years I’ve tried to make myself read one classic book a year. So far I’ve gotten through the Odyssey and Wuthering Heights and this year I’m trying to make it through the Complete Collection of Sherlock Holmes. Now that is A LOT of stories so no way I’ll finish it this year but I have read a fair number of them so far so I think it’s going well.
Ok so this is a difficult question for me because I feel like I have so many OTPs. But in an effort to not use Sarah J. Maas characters for every answer I’ve decided to go with Percy and Annabeth from the Percy Jackson Series by Rick Riordan I love percabeth with all my heart and they were the first couple I actively sought out fan fiction for so I could continue their story.
The Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare was so amazing. I loved every second of it and wish I could read it again for the first time over and over because it’s never as good as the first time. The characters were so amazing and I loved the historical setting with the elaborate dresses and carriages. And there were so many twists and amazing, action packed scenes that I wish I could reread the first time again.
So it’s not that I didn’t like this book, I thought it was good. But after all the hype I was expecting it to be amazing and it just didn’t do it for me. I liked it but I just never really got that connected to the characters
This book I found when I was looking for anything to read right when I got my kindle and was flying through books, some great and some horrible. I found this series by Josephine Angelini and it was such a pleasant surprise. Not only did I love the Greek mythology in it but I also loved the Nantucket setting since it referenced places I had been.
Throne of Glass was another pleasant surprise for me. I avoided it for so long because all I’d ever seen of it on Goodreads was that horrible original cover with that awful little excerpt on the back. But after watching PolandBananasBooks RAVE over it I finally picked it up and the rest is history as it is now my favorite series and Sarah J Maas is my favorite author.
So I have not yet read Kara Thomas’s book, The Darkest Corners, but I saw her speak with Sarah J Maas in Pennsylvania last spring and after listening to her speak I really think she has a lot more to offer and that she’s going to be big.
