Summer Wrap Up & Autumn Expectations

So I saw Niraja @ Fantastic Books and Where to Find Them do this post and thought it would be nice to summarize the last couple months, as summer finally comes to and end and we roll into fall. And with the official start to fall just the other day on September 22 what better way to kick off a new season then remember my favorite blog posts and reads from the summer. So here are some little facts and favorite from June 20 – September 22, 2016.

Weekly Bookstagrams #1, #2, #3 – I loved starting this little series. It gives me an excuse to take pictures of my books which is so satisfying.

Archeron Sisters Book Club – I finally started a book club! Me and my 2 best friends will be reading books together monthly, reviewing them and then posting a discussion page for each book. Join us!

Sunshine Blogger Award – This was the first time I was nominated by another blogger to do a tag and it was so fun! I love doing tags, they’re honestly my favorite posts and they’re such a good way to have conversations with other bloggers and see what other people think. They bring the whole book blogging community together!

Show Us 1 Month’s Blog Map

So I just really felt like adding this because this is my favorite WordPress feature. I love seeing what countries view my posts each day! Now obviously it varies a lot day to day, although my usuals besides the US include the UK, Australia, Ireland, India, Germany, and Canada. But I just love looking at how much of this map is colored in for just September! It’s awesome!

What were your favorite books this summer? What book are you most looking forward to this fall?

Thanks for Reading!

Summer Highlights

So another summer vacation has come to a close. I’m not the type of person who likes to jam pack my time off with stuff. In fact there’s really nothing I enjoy more than sleeping in, waking up in my own bed, and lounging around my house reading, watching TV etc. with my dogs. But I’m not a total stick in the mud and this summer definitely had some highlights.

This summer:

  • My sister graduated high school
  • I turned 21! Whoo! It is such a relief since all my friends were already 21
  • My best friend came up from Delaware to spend the 4th of July and my 21st birthday with me
  • I got a lot of books for my birthday (obviously a highlight)
  • I had an awesome internship at a wildlife center all june and july and got to work with all sorts of awesome animals (especially raccoons)
  • I got to spend a week on the Cape in Chatham with my family where we got to use a boat 3 out of the 7 days we were there
  • I got down to the little lake cottage my grandma has with my family a few times
  • I got to hang out with my doggies
  • My brother moved to Southie and I got to hang out there for a night
  • Apply to vet school (maybe not a fun highlight but definitely still a highlight)
  • Going back to school early to hand out at the Delaware beaches with my one of my best friends and roommate for a few days
  • A quick trip to Towson for one night to have a good time
  • Celebrating the kick off of our last school year with a backyard bonfire with s’mores

So all in all I’d say it was a pretty good summer 🙂

A Week on the Cape

I love the idea of the beach. Water, sand, sun. It’s just the beach doesn’t love me back. This summer on a family trip to Chatham I found myself with my usual horribly blotchy sunburns (thank you sun for always showing me exactly where I didn’t sunblock myself at least every hour). But on top of that this year my brother, sister and I went for a walk down the beach. They were both find but my feet were bothering me the whole time. We get back and I look at my feet and oh look at that 3 big giant burn blisters on my 2 big toes and 1 other, all popped with nice festering sandy cuts. Awesome. Thank you hot sand for reminding me why summer hates me.

The great bonus to this trip was this was our first family vacation where I was 21 so I finally go to order drinks at dinner and go out for drinks with my brother which was fun. My family spent plenty of time in the Squire which may be my father’s favorite bar ever.

The house we stayed in was adorable, which is really what I love about vacationing and why I aspire to have a vacation home one day. It’s just so peaceful to sit on the deck and sip your coffee with the ocean just peaking out over a hill.

And of course how can I not mention that I love the beach because I can read a million books. I brought a huge stack of books and a preloaded kindle because I love to sit on the beach and read all day then crawl into bed and read literally all night.

So all in all it was a very relaxing week (expect for what happened with my feet) so I thought I’d throw up a nice little collage of some vacation photos.
